Student Exchange Programmes:

ERASMUS Program

Our university is a member of ERASMUS which seeks collaboration and exchange of students and academics among European universities. This program aims mutual recognition of education programs and diplomas.

Exchange program has been in effect since 2005-2006 Academic Year. You can get more information from International Relations Unit.

Farabi Program

The Student and Faculty Member Exchange Program among Higher Education Institutions named Farabi Exchange Program is an exchange program between higher education institutions that offer education in associate, bachelor, master and doctoral degree within universities and high-tech institutes for students and faculty members. 

Farabi Exchange Program, which started to be implemented in Turkey in 2009–2010 academic year, aims to enable students or faculty members to continue their education and traning activities in another higher education institution for a period of one or two semesters.

Mevlana Exchange Program

Mevlana Exchange Program is a program that enables the exchange of students and faculty members between higher education institutions providing education in our country and higher education institutions providing education abroad. Together with the Regulation published in the Official Gazette No. 28034 dated August 23, 2011, the exchange of students and faculty members has been available between higher education institutions abroad and higher education institutions in our country.  

Unlike other exchange programs, the mobility within the exchange program includes higher education institutions throughout the world without any geographical distinction.

Students who wants to participate in the excahange program are required to study at least one or two semesters and faculty member can benefit from the program to teach in higher education institutions in the world for at least 1 week and maximum 3 months. Likewise, students and faculty members from all regions of the world may come to higher education instittutions in Turkey.

Transfer Among Faculty Departments  

Students from Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and Faculty of Science and Letters with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 are allowed to apply for transfer among the departments of the faculty they are registered at the beginning of the third semester.

Regulations About Transfer Among Faculty Departments 

  1. Transfer can only be made at Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and Faculty of Science and Letters and among the departments of these two faculties.
  2. Transfer among departments can only be made at the beginning of the third semester. Applications can be made up to ten (10) days before the beginning of the academic year.
  3. The students must have completed at least 1st and 2nd semesters lessons and must have achived in the exams in their current program, and must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00.
  4. Quatas for transfer among departments are determined separately from the quatas for transfer from other higher education institutions which is determined by Higher Education Council.
  5. Adaptation of a transfer student is prepared by the department which he/she applied for and in accordance with ESOGU Graduate&Undergraduate Education and Examination Guideline and submitted to the Faculty Academic Board for recognition.
  6. In the Faculty of Engineering ana Architecture, transfer cannot be made from the Department of Architecture to any Engineering Department or vice versa.
  7. For applications to the departments the language of instruction of which is English and to departments with mandatory foreign language teaching, students will be required to submit Eskisehir Osmangazi University Foreign Language Preparatory Class success certificate or certificate of achievement for Exemption Exam or a document (received within last two years) indicating that they are successful in the national ad international exams accepted by the Senate of Eskisehir Osmangazi University.    
  8. Applications for transfer among departments are evaluated and resolved by the relevant Faculty Executive Board.

Academic Counselling

In Eskisehir Osmangazi University, an academic advisor is appointed to assist each student in solving the problems that they will encounter in their education and in the course selection.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is English in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The language of instruction in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Architecture Departments and the Department of International Relations in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences has at least 30% English. In these programs, one-year compulsory English Preparatory Program is applied.

In the Department of Comparative Literature in the Faculty of Science and Letters, a one-year compulsory preparatory program is offered in English, German or French except the language that the student achieved to enter the program.

In the Faculty of Theology, the language of instruction is at least 30% Arabic and one-year compulsory Arabic Preparatory Program is implemented.

Summer School

In the summer school opened for the purpose of evaluating the university's teaching facilities also in the summer, the students are given the opportunity to to raise the grade, to take lessons from another program other than its own program, taking lessons from the upper class giving the successful students to graduate in less time.

International Diploma Supplement

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) credits of all courses in our university have been determined. Thus, the course equivalence of the students coming from abroad and the students going to abroad were provided. In addition, our graduates are given a diploma supplement that is another standardization of the Erasmus Program and enables them to be recognized internationally in the academic and professional environment.

Diploma Supplement, DS, is a supplement to a higher education diploma aimed at enhancing international transparency and ensuring the academic and professional recognition of the degree and degree obtained. It explains the level, content and status of the degree successfully completed by the person whose name and identity are specified in the original diploma.

Lateral and Vertical Transfer

Students are admitted to all units of with a horizontal transfer within the quota according to the Regulations on Transfer Among Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree Programs, Double Major Program, Minor Program and Credit Transfer between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions (click http://ogrenciisleri.ogu.edu.tr ).

Graduates of vocational schools can continue their four-year undergraduate education if they meet the conditions in the related regulations.

Bursary

For the quota determined annually, bursaries are granted to successful students whose financial situation is weak within the scope of the Higher Education Credit and Dormitories Institution. In addition, free lunch service is granted to 1000 students with weak financial situation and sportsman students.

Working in Part Time

In order to maintain service without any interruption, 250 students are employed in part-time status and hourly wages in the units serves to students in the University (sport facilities, dining hall, library, information technologies, faculties ect.).
